    Este documento tiene como objetivo caracterizar la participación ciudadana y política de las mujeres caucanas. Usando la información de la Encuesta de Cultura Política (ECP) de 2019 que tiene representatividad para el departamento del Cauca, se construye la Variable Participación General (VPG) de las mujeres caucanas, que se emplea como principal categoría de análisis. Las mujeres se clasificaron entonces como participantes y no participantes. Esta variable se encuentra determinada por las preguntas de la ECP que permiten identificar algún tipo de participación o utilización de herramientas por parte de las encuestadas para ser escuchadas y participar en la toma de decisiones de Gobierno y de su comunidad; estas se clasificaron en variables de participación social y ciudadana (PSC), y variables de participación política y democrática (PPD). Se encontró que las mujeres caucanas tienen un alto grado de participación ciudadana y política, la participación en asuntos públicos se concentra en las mujeres con un rango de edad entre los 26 a los 56 años, y los liderazgos de las mujeres parecen estar más relacionados con la vida comunitaria que con la posibilidad de ser elegidas o de participar en partidos políticos.

    This document aims to characterize the citizen and political participation of women from Cauca. Using the information from the 2019 Political Culture Survey (ECP), which is representative for the department of Cauca, the variable General Participation (VPG) of women in the department of Cauca is constructed, which is used as the main category of analysis. Women were then classified as participants and non-participants. This variable is determined by the ECP questions that make it possible to identify some type of participation or use of tools by the respondents to be heard and participate in government and community decision-making; These were classified as social and citizen participation variables (PSC), and variables of political and democratic participation (PPD). It was found that women from Cauca have a high degree of citizen and political participation, participation in public affairs is concentrated in women in the age range between 26 and 56 years, the leadership of women seems to be more related to the community life than with the possibility of being elected or participating in political parties.
