In ancient times, women were taking a secondary role in society, in public life, with some exceptions such as the religious environment, and were relegated to the family environment. But there are some women philosophers, who have been marginalized in posterity to the point that most of their works have been lost, although they were praised by philosophers of their time. Saint Augustine collects that legacy, and in the context of his time promotes a dignity of women (also of the philosopher) that takes biblical roots from the person as the image of God.
