La ciencia y la técnica tienen hoy una gran influencia en la vida humana, proporcionando la ciencia la visión del universo y condicionando la técnica el progreso de las condiciones de vida en un mundo globalizado. Teilhard de Chardin reconoce estas funciones de la ciencia y la técnica y trata de dar una visión cristiana de ellas. Propone que la visión del mundo de la ciencia no solo es compatible con la fe, sino que debe ayudarnos a conocer mejor a Dios creador. Por otro lado, es en este mundo conocido por la ciencia que Dios se ha encarnado en Cristo y, de esta forma, la investigación científica se convierte en una forma de adoración. Para Teilhard la visión evolutiva del mundo que nos da la ciencia encuentra en Cristo su último fin, de forma que la cosmogénesis se convierte en una Cristogénesis. La técnica se ha de ver dentro de este proceso evolutivo del mundo como elemento importante de la evolución humana. Esta evolución llevará a la llegada del ultra-humano y finalmente a la unión del mundo con Cristo-Omega. Para Teilhard, ciencia y técnica tienen de esta forma finalmente una dimensión cristológica.

Science and technology have today a great influence in human life, providing science the vision of the universe and conditioning technology the progress of life conditions in a globalized world. Teilhard de Chardin acknowledges this role of science and technology and tries to give a Christian vision of them. He proposes that the vision of the world of science is not only compatible to faith, but it should help us to better know God creator. From another point of view, it is in this world known by science that God has become incarnated in Christ, and then scientific research becomes a form of wordship. For Teilhard, the evolutive vision of the world provided by science finds in Christ its final end, so that the cosmogenesis becomes a Christogenesis. Technology must be seen inside this evolutive process of the world as an important element of human evolution. This evolution will lead to the arrival of the ultra-human and finally to the union of the world with the Christ-Omega. Finally, for Teilhard science and technology have in this way a Christological dimension.
