No se trata de una idea nueva, de hecho, la ciudad de proximidad recupera la configuración de las ciudades clásicas mediterráneas densas, de usos mezclados y con una cercanía a escala peato-nal de los principales servicios que se hacen habitualmente. Sus atribuciones ya habían sido incluidas en la antigua Agenda 21 de 2005 y en la actual Agenda Urbana de 2015, pero con las situaciones deri-vadas de la pandemia del Covid-19 se abren nuevas oportunidades de impulsar la ciudad de proximidad, reconvertir espacios públicos antes destinados al vehículo privado y al mismo tiempo intensificar las acciones frente a la crisis climática que son complementarias en el objetivo de lograr una ciudad más amable y saludable
: It is not a new idea, in fact the proximity city recovers the configuration of the dense classic Mediterranean cities, of mixed uses and with a proximity to the pedestrian scale of the main services that are usually done.
