Resumen de Análisis crítico de los principales discursos de la prensa española en torno al rescate del buque Aquarius.

Este artículo presenta un análisis de los principales discursos que surgen en una muestra de la prensa española antes y después de la llegada del buque Aquarius al puerto de Valencia en junio de 2018 con el fin de observar si aparece un discurso solidario o uno que rechaza la llegada a España de los inmigrantes rescatados. El corpus consiste en todas las noticias publicadas desde el 10 de junio al 10 de julio de 2018 en la versión electrónica de los periódicos españoles ABC, El Mundo, El País, y La Vanguardia. La metodología es fundamentalmente cualitativa-descriptiva. Se optó por la perspectiva del análisis crítico del discurso (ACD) con el fin de analizar las principales características lingüísticas de las noticias recopiladas y la temática de las mismas. El análisis muestra que predominan los testimonios de políticos y miembros de ONGs y son pocos los testimonios de inmigrantes. Se potencia la solidaridad y la acogida de España, además de reivindicar la defensa de los derechos humanos. Esto contrasta con los discursos que la prensa presenta tras la llegada del barco a Valencia pues predomina un discurso relacionado con la salud de los inmigrantes y su necesidad de ayuda y recursos, hecho que contribuye a la alarma del grupo mayoritario.

This article presents an analysis of the main discourses that appear in a sample of the Spanish press before and after the arrival of the ship Aquarius to the port of Valencia in June 2018 in order to observe if there is a solidarity discourse or one that rejects the arrival of the rescued immigrants to Spain. The corpus consists of all the news published from June 10 to July 10, 2018 in the electronic version of the Spanish newspapers ABC, El Mundo, El País and La Vanguardia. The methodology is mainly qualitative-descriptive. Critical discourse analysis (CDA) was chosen in order to observe the main linguistic characteristics of the collected news items and the topics that appear in the pieces of news. The analysis shows that the testimonies of politicians and members of NGOs predominate and there are few testimonies of immigrants. Solidarity and acceptance of Spain are strengthened, as well as the defense of human rights. This contrasts with the discourses that the press presents after the arrival of the ship to Valencia, since a discourse related to the health of immigrants and their need for help and resources predominates, a fact that contributes to the alarm of the majority group.
