Se hace un recorrido sobre la actualidad de los conocimientos sobre la Visión cromática desde el punto de vista físico repasando la evolución de estos hasta llegar a la teoría tricromática de Young-Helmholz, que es la actualmente aceptada. Se hace un recorrido sobre los conocimientos anatómicos y neurofisiológicos que permiten explicar que bastan tres conos diferentes dotados de sus correspondientes Opsinas que, seleccionando la longitud de onda correspondiente, pueden combinarse para ser capaces de identificar todos los colores de la naturaleza. Finalmente, partiendo de los conocimientos de la patología cromática iniciados por Dalton, se hace un seguimiento de los avances que han permitido delimitar la patología, tanto de los pacientes como de los animales dicrómatas así como de los tricrómatas anormales, basándose en el estudio de las Opsinas y de los medios de exploración disponibles tanto para estudios de investigación como para el diagnóstico clínico.

To do a look over the current knowledge of the Chromatic Vision from the physical point of view, we reviewing the evolution of these to the theories that led to the trichromatic theory of Young-Helmholz, which is the currently accepted. We revise the anatomical and neurophysiological knowledge that allows to explain that three different cones equipped with their corresponding Opsinas are sufficient that, by selecting the corresponding wavelength, can be combined to be able to identify all the colors of nature. Finally, based on the knowledge of chromatic pathology initiated by Dalton, the progress that has allowed to delimit the pathology, both of patients and of dichromatic animals as well as of abnormal trichromatism, is tracked, based on the study of Opsins and the means of exploration available for both research studies and the clinical diagnosis.
