  • Advances in computational linguistics in the last twenty years have allowed that general lexicography and learner’s lexicography will benefit from techniques and resources to facilitate the work of writing dictionaries and renew the landscape of current lexicographical resources. The emergence of digital dictionaries on the market and the existence of support systems for lexicographers are clear evidence of this change, although they have not lacked critics about the slow implementation of this paradigm shift or on possibilities of current technology that have not yet been applied in the lexicographical products offered. In this chapter we analyse the intersection of language technologies and dictionaries: first, to review some of the parameters that allow us to take a picture of the current situation; second, to locate exactly which areas of research and development provides valid linguistic engineering innovations for the lexicographical work; and third, to think about learner’s dictionaries features for digital frame.
