Autonomia politikoa galdu geroztik, gure hizkuntza eta gure kultura izan dira historikoki gure herritartasunaren ardatz nagusiak. Estatu-administrazio eta instituzio politikoen aurrean gizarte zibilak euskaltegi eta ikastoletan zentratu zuen bere erresistentziazko borroka nazionala. Estatu espainiarraren barruan egokitze politikoaren prozesu honetan behin eta berriz agertzen zaigu "normalkuntza" hitza. Horregaitik, idatzi honetan, hizkuntz-normalkuntzari begira, hezkuntza sistema eta politikatik izan diren neurriak eta garapenak aztertu nahi ditugu. Beraz, hezkuntzaren politika, hezkuntza sistemaren barruan erabiltzen diren eredu linguistikoak eta bere garapena, irakaslegoari dagokion hizkuntz-politika, hezkuntzaren curriculuma, eta hezkuntza sistemarekin erlazionaturik dauden hizkuntz-erabilkera sozialak aztergai ditugu.

Our language and culture have constitued historically the key points in our nationality since we lost political autonomy. Againts the state administration and political institution, the civil society focused its national resistence on the Basque-language schools ("euskaltegi" and "ikastola"). Within the Spanish state, in this process of political adaptation, the word "nomalization" appears again and again. That's why in this text, we wish to analize those steps that have been taken and evolution in the educational system and politics towards the normalization of the language. Thus, we are analyzing education politics, lingusitic characteristics that are used within the educational system and their development, the language policy corresponding to the teachers, educational curriculum and social use of the language related to the educational system.
