Indoeuropeización en el Paleolítico: una réplica

    El presente trabajo consiste en una réplica al presentado por X.-I. Adiego en esta misma revista (ER 24, 2002, 7-29) y donde, desde los postulados más tradicionalistas, se reafirma la hipótesis clásica de que la fase de comunidad lingüística indoeuropea no habría podido verificarse hasta época muy reciente, hacia el quinto milenio aC., ya bien dentro, pues, del período neolítico. Aquí se exponen los objeciones fundamentales a tal suposición reafirmándose, con argumentos adicionales, la propuesta de que el indoeuropeo, como tantos otros grandes grupos lingüísticos, sería de época paleolítica.

    This paper is a reply to the one submitted by X.-I. Adiego to this same journal (ER 24, 2002, 7-29), which reaffirms, from the most traditionalist stances, the classic hypothesis that the phase of the Indo-European linguistic community could not have come about until very recently, around the fifth millennium B.C. - i.e. well within the Neolithic period. In this paper, the fundamental objections to that assumption are expounded, reaffirming, with additional arguments, the proposal that Indo-European, like so many other large linguistic groups, must date from the Palaeolithic period.
